Psalm

I’ve been through the valley

Of the Shadow of Death,

Walked the paths of Job …

Stood on the shore when Jonah

Washed up as we were told.

I stood on the edge

Of the Abyss,

Searching for the Truth …

All the while I didn’t know,

The Abyss had searched me too.

I’ve been abased

And I abound

Had house and car and land,

Learned the struggle without is within,

And still I stand.

I have ruled

And been ruled

Traveled far and wide

Placed an alter here and there

To show God’s by my side

Now I walk the troubled path

Yet again – up to my sash

And as I walk I wear a grin

Because He is with me

To the end.

So don’t expect me to lie down,

Don’t expect to see a frown,

Nor expect I’ll cry with fear

For I know

My Lord is near.

And I will call out for God to hear,

“Oh my Father lend me your ear,

Search my heart

For to see

If my will is not

Your will to see!”
