What does Mother’s Day mean to me?
It’s a day to honor the one who brought you into the world.
It’s a day to honor the one who brought your kids into the world.
Honor your mother because without her you would not have been here today.
It’s a day to remember all the times when you were hurt or depressed or lost your
best friend.
It’s a day to remember when you were happy or had a party or got that new toy.
Remember it was your mother who took you under her arm to comfort you when you needed it, and who rearranged her life to accommodate the good times.
It’s always a Mother who opens her arms,
When you have had your worst day,
Fighting the world’s harms.
It’s the Mother who stands strong against the pain,
When time after time you reject her again.
She’s there in the dark when no one’s around,
She’s there when your knees scrape on the ground,
She’s there to cheer you on,
She’s there to correct you when you’re wrong,
She’s there when you don’t want her to be,
She’s there to rejoice when you know you are free!
That’s what Mother’s day means to me.
Mi Amor, you fill the roll beautifully. I love you. I am proud that you are the mother in this house.
